West Coast, a pioneer in the “worker” concept in Brazil, has a mix of products that joins fashion and style having men as its target audience. With 30 years of history, the brand consolidated itself having a background of innovation and releasing trendy products.
Its leather collections highlight the uniqueness of its product portfolio with three key drivers: Worker, Work&Play and Lifestyle. The result of this blend is the so-called modern “worker” culture – a universe that characterizes West Coast’s approach in relation to fashion, music, and sports.
1987 sees West Coast emerge as a brand of men’s footwear inspired by the Californian lifestyle and behavior, with skateboarding and surfing. Its first noteworthy products were the beach sandals, which revolutionized fashion among surfers.
In 1988, the first “worker” boots in the country were produced. They soon became the brand’s iconic product. Later, in 2003, West Coast creates Brazilian’s first tennis shoes, a hybrid and versatile design that combines the style of shoes and the comfort of sneakers for working people’s outfits.
In 2013, the brand increases its mix of products and releases its first clothing collection. In the same year, it reinforces its position in the fashion market by means of a collaboration project never seen before with designer João Pimenta – this ends up being the starting point for the release of the capsule collection West Coast João Pimenta, in SPFW, in the winter of 2014.
In the following year, the partnership brings great results and João Pimenta takes over West Coast’s creative direction, being involved in the construction of the brand’s image and consolidating it among Brazilian’s well-known fashion brands.
